I applied to my hair as a leave in treatment. I started out by washing and conditioning as usual. I applied only two dime size drops throughout my hair. I didn't notice any bad smell with this product as I have with many others and a simple wash of the hands with regular hand soap was sufficient at removing any residue left on palms after applying.
1ST thing  I noticed was how much it was instantly easier to comb out my hair. 
2nd thing was that my hair DID NOT feel greazy at all like I had worried about before the application the first time.
